I Felt the Bullet Hit My Heart

by Track a Tiger

1.
I’ll say that I love you if it will end this argument. So give me a soft word and let me take the easy way out. I’ll promise I’ll stay as far away as you need me to. Because I feel an endless funeral marching around your heart. We’re old enough not to matter and too young to care. So why this sudden love of truth? Who cares for us here when we fall? Don’t let the nightlight dance, let it fade away. I can’t say that I love you so let’s end this argument.
2.
I’ll lie in wait of your charms but don’t waste your time on me. Why can’t you move to make me over and always untrue? I found nothing left to mend out of all you fear. Deep down you seem so ashamed don’t mourn all the stars you see.
3.
I count all the little ways you move me. A thousand stars, you lead the way and thrill me. And I really want to see you. And I really need to feel you once again because I am king of your blue eyes. I feel your heart beat out of time. So leave faith to the unknown, we’ll find a way. And I really want to see you. And I really need to tell you once again that I am king of your blue eyes.

Bullet 03:40
I felt the bullet hit my heart and all at once I fell so cold. It’s in too deep to cut it out and scrape through another dream with you. A dream with you. And every time I have to lie it tears a little more away. I’ll have to make it somehow before there’s nothing left to say to you. Nothing left at all. And every day I’m losing ground, sailing on this side of hope. But you will pass me by as I wait to ride in time with you. Ride in time with you. I feel this bullet in my heart. I know it’s never coming out. It’s in too deep to cut away and scrape through another dream with you. A dream with you.
5.
When we started on this road, your tiny hand in mine. Walked through darkened dreams of life and lies. Push through the dark and the cold. Push on your heart cannot hold it all. Terrible imaginations never held. Cannot hold it all. Such darkness as life lost tonight. I'll tell you one simple thing of light filled lives. The fishes in the streams, of suns and leaves and time. Of neighbor's smiles your mother's eyes, your mother’s eyes. Push through the dark and the cold. Push on your heart cannot hold it all. When we started on this road, your tiny hand in mine. Walked through darkened dreams of life and lies. And lies.
6.
What am I supposed to do, walk on fire over you? That last kiss burned like your cigarette. Perhaps I played the fool too long. I’m not so patient in my pride. All you say is I don’t know, I don’t know and I’m sorry. Everything ends with you to start. You don’t make a sound or give a thought away. I’m not so young and easy. I only let it out sometimes. I pick the bones of every word you say looking for a reason not to care. You’re so scared you’re going to be unfair to me or is it me to you? Is it me to you?
7.
All through the sin and autumn way, under a spell that wouldn’t break, I brush aside the summer tide and drift away. I long for the world to let us on, a cold long time without a sound, every second of the day, every minute my age, down to the last. The closer I get to the weary shore, I learn to sleep but nothing more. Left alone with these tattered bones. To feel my way around but I’m lost on why I’m here in a dead heat back to where I found you. On the heels of no regret I would not follow just yet. I can’t believe when you say to me our lives live long. All through the sin the winter breaks, another spell that won’t wait to brush aside the autumn tide. I get by on what you left me. I get by on next to nothing. All I am and all I will be, a dead heat back to where I found you.

Don’t stir she might break apart. Slow star struck wings to the wise. Drawn along the fires above her, Fox tries to sing. She’ll try anything once. So lost in a spin of the sun. Come down, the seas are rough today. Celebrate, stumble, and howl, she tries everything. Fox tries to sing once. A faint sigh, screams tear at her throat. A dead mute when fate takes her love. Drawn along the fires above her, Fox tries to sing. She tries everything. Fox tries to sing.
9.
Slow now sleepy kisser. Hold on while ashes wander. You made up your mind to torture me. You made up your little mind with the wrong words at the right time. Find your own. You can not tell why I don’t feel you fade. Pull tight your thin skin before you listen to me. Your love finds a way to torture me. Your love finds me unwilling so go on deliver softly. Find your own. You can not tell why I don’t feel your fade.
10.
Lovers choke in a midlife mourn. All nerves serve you so well. They serve you well. Vain is the rage that leads us on. We work each other, this work is war. This work is war. All else is gone. We can’t hide or climb. You never send me up. You never lead me down this way. Well worn lies, lie down thin. Feeling is first, no aching down. No aching down. Far at sea the space between. Once we cross, never stop to ask or tear apart. All else is gone. We can’t hide or climb. You never send me up. You never lead me down this way. One sad hour comes dragging home. All nerves serve you so well. They serve you well. All else is gone. We can’t hide or climb. You never send me up. You never lead me down this way.
